Better late than never
No commentsI guess we should have announced Sweet Edition was going on a bit of a hiatus. As it is, we just failed to post for a month or so and we apologize for the delay.
We’ve recently moved from our regular Wordpress blog to a new location, thanks to Reactive of bakaism.net, who offered to host our site and helped us set it up. So right now I’m trying to find an easily customizable theme that is also suitable for a gallery (this one is temporary, but the few themes I found today should make Reactive pretty happy, since they’re widget-ready and boast a definite lack of pink :D) Raluca is currently busy with her manga and Nijikon related work, so I’m going to try and look after the site until she’s finished.
Long story short, we hope to have Sweet Edition up and properly running by next week. Things you can look forward to include:
- a gallery update, which is something I haven’t done in ages. I have a ton of art I haven’t posted and Raluca has her own illustrations, so I’m thinking of making two separate galleries, so as not to complicate things too much.
- Sweet Edition’s new mascot! (it’s a surprise)
- a work list for Nijikon products, to give you an idea of what you’re going to find at our booth.
- some actual product previews, hopefully by the end of the month and, following that, some time in September.
Thanks for bearing with us.
Laura and Raluca.
We’re back
2 comments so farSorry for the long delay we’ve had out here, both Raluca and I were super-busy with exams and final papers (well, she still is, I got off a little easier this time)
We’ve started working on stuff for Nijikon 2008 already, even though we still need to discuss some details and set up a proper list. Here’s a sample for a D.Gray-Man poster/postcard:

It still needs a bit of work and details, so this is more like a first version of it, but you’ll probably get to see the final one at the con.
We’ll post more as we come up with new material.
WIP and an art shop update

If you missed us at Otaku Fest, here’s some good news: we plan on opening pre-orders this Saturday, for two weeks.
The products available for this round will be the same we sold at Otaku last weekend (at least until we finish new designs) Some previews have been posted in the Shop section, so feel free to check them out and see what they look like in real life.
Commission slots will also be open at the beginning of June, when we finish our exams. Examples and full detail on how to commission artwork from us will be available soon as well.
PS: Thank you for 200 hits ![]()
Over!
No commentsBack from our last day at Otaku Festival and it was all such a great experience. We met and talked to some very talented people and our table had so many visitors we couldn’t even believe it. Thank you, everyone!
If you’d like a few more details on the con itself and some pics taken by Raluca from the art exhibition and yesterday’s cosplay, take a look at the events section.
The art shop will hopefully be up and running this week and we’ll announce pre-orders, so keep an eye on us.
See you again at Nijikon in October ♥
Otaku Fest product preview
No commentsOK, so. Otaku Fest starts tomorrow and this is what I’ll be selling (top to bottom: two sets of postcards, set of stickers and pin buttons)
Sorry about the image quality, they were taken in a hurry.

There will also be ten prints of this piece, in A3 format:

Unfortunately I have no preview for it, because it came out of the print shop a little later than the others and was picked up by Raluca Z. The same goes for this set of stickers, which was cut and trimmed by our friend, Iulia *waves*
If you’re interested in Raluca Z.’s products, you can see a full preview here. She’ll also be selling ten Jigoku Shoujo pin buttons:

The two of us will be selling at the Suburbia Club stand, starting tomorrow at 9 AM. If you’d like to drop by, we’ll probably be there for the better part of the day and perhaps on Sunday as well

OK, I haven’t updated in a long time, but a lot of things happened that pretty much had me busy out of my mind.
First and foremost: I’ll be attending Otaku Festival in Bucharest this weekend together with Raluca Z
and we’ll both be selling a few things: buttons, bookmarks, postcards and prints. I’m going to post a few samples soon so you can get a general idea of what they’re going to look like.
So, if you’re in Bucharest this weekend and you’re coming to the festival, feel free to drop by.
Aside from that, there’s been a small update in the gallery section (I’m still doing logs whenever I’m bored) and I’ll probably put up an event page as soon as we can get a full report from Otaku Festival.

Small Gallery update in the logs section (one DGM and one Final Fantasy 7 oekaki) I think D.Gray-Man might soon need a separate category, so I went ahead and made it. I caught up with the manga a couple of days ago and it was very exciting to read.

The animation in Bleach 166-167 was… scary. I mean a little more so than usually. This is why I like sticking to the manga instead.
But on another note, I’m into a few new series right now: D.Gray-Man (which I started watching on a friend’s recommendation) and Amatsuki (the manga, since I can’t find subbed versions after episode 1) Also, Bride of the Water God is so pretty it isn’t fair! I haven’t started reading it yet, but the art is stunning.

Done and added to gallery. Check it out for full view.
I think it took around 12 hours, six of which happened today. I am really really tired right now.
But I had a lot of fun with this and I’m glad I cleared it. I have at least one other thing I have to work on right now.

Newest WIP, started tonight. The lineart is halfway done and I think it took around three hours, so I’m beat. I hope I can finish the rest tomorrow. I don’t know how long the coloring is going to take (or even if I’m going to color it at all, I like the way the lineart looks by itself)
But hopefully not too long?
